8th Grade Boys v Fishers

On Tuesday night, the 8th grade boys basketball team hosted the Fishers Tigers. The Huskies got off to a hot start offensively and led 16 - 8 after the first quarter. The Dawgs continued to pour it on in the second quarter and took a 31 - 19 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, the Tigers turned up the defensive pressure and cut the lead down to four points with a few seconds left in the period. However, Cooper Ballenger came off the bench to hit a big 3 pointer with a couple of seconds left in the period to gain back the momentum for the Huskies. Going into the fourth period, the home team led 42 - 33. The Dawgs got hot in the fourth quarter and scored 16 points in the period. Vince Kakasuleff had a big quarter with two clutch 3's. The Huskies knocked off the Fishers Tigers by a final score of 58 - 51. Several players came up big in this game. Nolan Kakasuleff led the team offensively by making four three pointers. Grayson Pickering, Vince Kakasuleff & Cooper Ballenger made big shots in the second half to lead the Huskies to a good win against a bigger county school. In the B game, the Huskies shared the basketball and took a 22 - 16 lead at halftime. The Dawgs continued to control the game throughout the second half with unselfish play. The Huskies led the entire game and finished with a 42 - 32 victory. Jace Hilton played a solid game and led the team offensively. Cooper Hensley and Taylor Hartman made solid contributions with good hustle plays. The 8th grade boys team will be back in action on Thursday night @ 6:30 in the opening round of the Mid Indiana Conference tournament against the Blue team from up north.
