Hamilton Heights Middle School Athletics

On Thursday night, the 8th grade boys basketball team hosted the Kokomo Wildkats. The two teams traded baskets in the first quarter. The home team trailed 9 - 8 after one period. The Huskies offense went cold in the second quarter and were outscored 10 - 6 in the period and trailed 19 - 14 at the half. The Huskies rallied in the third quarter and outscored the Kats 14 - 11 in the third period and trailed 30 - 28 going into the final period. The fourth quarter was the difference in this one. The Huskies turned the ball over giving the Wildkats some easy transition baskets. The Dawgs were outscored by the Kats 17 - 8 in the fourth quarter resulting in a 47 - 36 defeat. In the B game, the Huskies got off to a fast start and led 17 - 9 at halftime. The Dawgs were outscored 10 - 6 in the third quarter, but still maintained a four point lead going into the fourth period. The Kats got hot in the last quarter and outscored Heights 15 - 11 in the final period resulting in a tie score at the end of regulation. The Huskies will be back in action on Saturday for a road trip to take on the Logansport Berries.
