Hamilton Heights Middle School Athletics

On Monday night, the 8th grade boys basketball team hosted the Lapel Bulldogs. The Huskies struggled early in the game with Lapel's pressure defense and fell behind 10 - 4 after the first quarter. The home team outscored the Bulldogs 8 - 5 in the second period and trailed 15 - 12 at halftime. The Huskies came out sluggish in the third quarter and turned the ball over multiple times resulting in a double digit deficit. They trailed by 29 - 19 going into the fourth quarter. The Huskies made a frenetic comeback in the last 2 minutes of the game to cut the lead to 3. However, the home team ran out of time and lost in a hard fought game by the score of 39 - 36. Carter Berndt and Nolan Kakasuleff led the Huskies offensively while Grayson Pickering played some solid defense. The Huskies will be back in action on Thursday night against Kokomo.
